beyond_repair is an art & research collective of Antoni Rayzhekov and Martin Murer, two artists and researchers from Salzburg working between post-digital art and interaction design. They build instruments and installations out of what is already there, old electronic equipment taught new behaviour and everyday objects used exactly as they are, and they let audiences play them. What they learn along the way they share in exhibitions as well as in research

The Readymade Synth
2026 | hybrid musical instrument
The Readymade Synth, a keyboard with a sensing surface and a brass camera housing

Unmodified everyday objects, placed on a sensing surface under a camera, shape the timbre of the sound played on the keyboard.

Well-Tempered Objects
2025 | post-digital music installation
Well-Tempered Objects, two black tables with illuminated objects in a dark room

Found and donated things laid on a table are unfolded into sound and traced in light, where each new object changes the music of all the others.

Sweepcase
2024 | interactive sound installation
Sweepcase, an open striped suitcase next to a microphone

An old suitcase that sounds only while it is closed, translating the weight, place and colour of whatever has been put inside it.

Between This and That is It
2023 | interactive installation
Between This and That is It, an electronic typewriter from the 1980s

A 1980s typewriter with an offline language model inside, which types the word that lies between any two words a visitor has typed.
